About Laura

Laura is an artist based in Cork, Ireland. Her work celebrates moments from her everyday life; domestic scenes like a warm cup of tea, sisters hugging, a child sleeping, a vase of flowers or views from the dramatic landscape that surrounds her home in the south of Ireland all serve as a reminder to pause in our often fast paced and hectic lives.

She started her career in architecture, a field she still has great admiration for, but quickly became frustrated with the constraints and rigidity of the discipline so returned to her artistic practice.

Some of her earliest memories are of painting or drawing and she was inspired to pick up a paintbrush again by her own young daughters who show complete joy and freedom when making art. Her art gives her valuable solace and sense of identity amid the chaos of motherhood.
